VIRTUALfx: Security for Virtualized Systems

VIRTUALfx provides complete security for the virtual environment—VMware, XEN or any other major virtual system. VIRTUALfx protects and provides an agentless, persistent connection to: the virtual machine service processor, the hypervisor and every virtual guest.

Virtualization allows one computer do the job of multiple computers by sharing the resources of a single computer across multiple environments. Virtual servers and virtual desktops make it possible to host multiple operating systems and multiple applications locally and in remote locations, free of physical and geographical limitations.

VIRTUALfx logs, monitors, manages and repairs problems in a virtualized infrastructure. It does so for VMware or XEN hypervisor systems today and will add more vendor technologies as they are more generally accepted. VIRTUALfx saves on energy costs and capital expenses because it uses the hardware resources more efficiently. VIRTUALfx also allows for a high availability of resources, better desktop management, increased security, and improved disaster recovery processes for the virtual infrastructure.

Management of a virtual environment consists of four primary disciplines.

One must consider each of the following:

The virtual guest machine
The underlying hypervisor
The physical machine the hypervisor runs on
The physical infrastructure of the physical devices to which the machine is connected and dependent

VIRTUALfx interfaces with, understands and controls all four disciplines so that a virtual machine can be managed, logged and repaired enterprise-wide. Having well understood logging, management and remediation capabilities across the total virtual environment is critical to providing virtualization security, logging, management, remediation and visibility to the virtualized environment.
